The Villa Bentota by the KK Collection officially opened its doors to guests on 14 October.

This newest edition to the collection was originally built and designed by the late great Geoffrey Bawa.

The Villa has been extensively renovated while still staying true to its colonial charm and boasts of seven well-appointed rooms and eight luxurious suites including one with its own private pool.  Guests will also be able to enjoy two stunning swimming pools as well as two restaurants serving delicious, innovative Sri Lankan and Western cuisine.

Located on the beautiful Bentota shoreline, midway between Galle and Colombo makes this the perfect weekend getaway with direct access to the beach, water sports on the lagoon or a visit to the Brief Gardens. The property also offers its guests a chance to experience the healing powers of our indigenous Hela Wedakama treatments as well as mindfulness and wellness activities.

KK Collection Founder/Director George Cooper said: “I am personally really excited and honoured to be relaunching The Villa, which was known originally as The Mohotti Wallauwa. It is such an iconic property, steeped with character and personality, and I am honoured that the owner should place their trust in us to do the place proud, and I look forward to sharing the place with our guests.“

Flanked by a large lawn, stunning beach vistas and open spaces makes The Villa Bentota an ideal option for those looking for a destination wedding or event location ideally suited for elegant garden weddings up to 200 guests.

Concluding, Cooper stated: “The past two years have been challenging times for tourism worldwide, but this has also given us time to prepare for the re-emergence of business in a post-COVID world. We are ready to welcome our visitors, and to provide a safe, relaxing and healthy environment.”

KK Collection consists of two award-winning luxury boutique hotels in the Galle area and two luxury tented camps, Leopard Safaris by KK Collection, in Yala and Wilpattu.

The collection also consists of a retail boutique store selling fashionable clothing, accessories, and homewares in the Galle Fort.

Designed to offer luxury travellers a decadent, stylish and serenity-focused experience with an emphasis on health and wellbeing, KK Collection offers the perfect contrast between the island’s palm-fringed beaches, jungle interiors, and rich wildlife experiences.
