Maldivian delegation visit a confidence-boost for tourism

A delegation of over 100 Parliamentarians and VIPs from Maldives were on a goodwill visit to build confidence in the safety and security of the country internationally. The visiting Maldivian state delegation held talks with Minister of Tourism John Amaratunga. The purpose of their visit was to show the international community that Sri Lanka is a tourist-friendly, peaceful and safe country. Tourism Minister John Amaratunga thanked the head of the state delegation – the Maldivian Speaker and Former President Mohamed Nasheed and the Maldivian Vice President Faisal Nazeem for their support and expressed his gratitude to the Maldivian delegation for their visit to Sri Lanka.
