Situated along the pristine southern coast of the island, the stunning Mosvold Villa was very recently named the winner as Sri Lanka’s leading boutique hotel at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA), Asia and Oceania 2019.

Held on 12 October at the Vinpearl Convention Center in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, the Asia and Oceania gala ceremony is the sixth and final edition of the WTA Grand Tour 2019 which brings together and recognises some of the finest travel and tourism brands from around the world. Other regional editions included North America and the Caribbean, Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean, Europe, and Latin America.

“Receiving this award gives me affirmation that nurturing good employee relationships and guiding them to step out of their comfort zones can yield results beyond expectation. My team has understood and constantly focused on the finer details of how our guests experience our hospitality. This experience-driven approach has been our key strength and a driver in everything we do,” said Mosvold Boutique Hotels CEO Nilanka Martinus.

Ahangama-based Mosvold Villa, the flagship property of Mosvold Boutique Hotels which also owns We Escape and the upcoming boutique hotel Sundara, offers an amazing experience combining the luxuries one could expect from a star class hotel and the privacy of a beachfront villa.

Mosvold Villa is also featured on the National Geographic Traveller’s Luxury Collection for 2018, 2019 and 2020 (one of only two properties from Sri Lanka) in addition to being named winner as Luxury Beachfront Villa-Asia Continent at World Luxury Hotel Awards 2018 held in Bali.

With 12 gorgeous bedroom suites each offering the perfect blend of traditional and modern comforts, a private balcony overlooking the magnificent Indian Ocean, a plunge pool with Jacuzzi gets, dine by the beach or pool or BBQ garden with fusion cuisines ranging from Western to Asian and local, guests are in for a breath-taking treat. And its iconic and scrumptious seafood dishes are a must-try.

Ahangama is widely regarded for its tropical beaches, nature and religious excursions, arts, culture and archaeological sites. Its beach is renowned for swimming, diving, surfing and is close proximity to many sea activities including dinghy sailing, whales and dolphins watching, water skiing, snorkelling.
