Mövenpick Hotel Colombo wins at South Asian Travel Awards 2018

Mövenpick Hotel Colombo was crowned the “Leading Meeting & Conference Hotel in Sri Lanka” at the South Asian Travel Awards 2018, which aims to encourage and raise customer service standards of the tourism industry within the South Asian regions. The “Leading Meeting & Conference Hotel” category included renowned candidates from Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and the Maldives, with Mövenpick Hotel Colombo emerging the destination winner in this category.

The panel of judges consisted of an all-women expert panel for the first time, composed of 3 high-profile individuals chosen based on their entrepreneurial experience, achievements and their commitment to supporting the tourism and service industry. The process was initially open for online voting and thereafter, each nominee was invited to present their respective property. The panellists referred to guest reviews on online major platforms, while evaluating the company profile, media coverage and exposure received during the year. The location, facilities, proximity to business hubs within the city, Meeting and Events facilities and amenities for business travellers were also key factors during the evaluation process.

The previous year saw Mövenpick Hotel Colombo winning the Leading Business Hotel in Sri Lanka, at the South Asian Travel Awards. In addition, the hotel was also crowned the Leading Hotel in Sri Lanka last year at the World Travel Awards.
