Nyne Hotels yesterday announced that following a recent court settlement, Nayantara Fonseka, also known as “Taru,” is no longer associated with, involved in, or responsible for the management, operations, or creative direction of the properties currently operating under the “Taru Villas” brand.

While Nayantara Fonseka was the original visionary behind Taru Villas, she has completely transitioned out of any role or connection with the brand as part of this settlement.

Nayantara Fonseka – Taru – has announced her new venture, Nyne Hotels, an independent luxury hospitality brand.

Nyne Hotels showcases a curated collection of exceptional boutique properties, each reflecting Nayantara Fonseka’s dedication to personalised service, timeless elegance, and meticulous attention to detail. Every property under the Nyne Hotels brand embodies her signature style, promising guests an intimate luxury experience and authentic hospitality.

The current Nyne Hotels collection includes: Rock Villa – Bentota, The Muse – Bentota, Lake Lodge – Colombo, Mayur Lodge – Yala, Leela Walauwa – Induruwa, Landesi – Galle and Stafford Bungalow – Ragala.

“With more properties set to join the Nyne Hotels portfolio, we are committed to continuing the legacy of excellence, sophistication, and bespoke experiences that guests have come to expect from Nayantara Fonseka,” the statement said.

Nyne Hotels was officially launched in early 2024, heralding a new chapter in her journey to redefine luxury hospitality.
