Onyx Hospitality signs first Shama Resort

Onyx Hospitality has signed a management agreement with Hainan Sunup Group (Hainan Xinhua Group) to open the first-ever Shama resort.

Scheduled to open in February 2021, the Shama Yalong Bay Sanya is located in the coastal area of the Yalong Bay Tourist Resort District, just a short distance from the beach.

The resort will feature 285 guestrooms and suites all featuring fully-equipped kitchens, an all-day dining restaurant, flexible guest meeting and relaxation space, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

Hainan Sunup Group Investment Co. Ltd., Executive Vice President Zenghui Sun said: “Shama Yalong Bay Sanya will be an all-new resort-style apartment hotel. With the abundance of local resources, geographical advantages, and the combined international vision and management expertise of Onyx, we are confident that this synergy will make Shama Yalong Bay Sanya a well-known new landmark in Sanya, bringing guests the most extraordinary experience in this resort paradise.”

Based in Bangkok, Onyx Hospitality Group has an operating portfolio of over 50 hotels and a robust development pipeline of more than 20 new properties in markets such as China, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
