Professional Logistics Network (Prolog), a neutrally managed global network of independent freight forwarders and logistics providers, successfully concluded its 3rd Pro-Networking Conference in Colombo.
The four-day event was held from 3-7 September at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel and drew around 120 delegates from across the globe. The conference featured a B2B networking session from 4-6 September, providing three full days for members to connect, discuss business opportunities, and strengthen partnerships.
Business attendees were treated to a series of social events, including a Delegates Award Ceremony Gala Dinner at The Barnhouse Panadura and a beach party at Mt. Lavinia Hotel, Colombo.
The gathering of international logistics professionals underscored the importance of building strong networks within the industry, whilst showcasing the beauty and culture of Sri Lanka to global delegates. The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) lent its support by contributing a cultural dance show and a fire dance show for the Award Ceremony Gala Dinner. The MICE event was organised by Tangerine Tours Ltd.
Prolog President Gangadhar Iyer provided an insightful review of the recent event in Sri Lanka. “The event was a resounding success, and our members thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional hospitality that Sri Lanka has to offer. Although we had anticipated more than 150 delegates, we faced a setback due to issues with the online visa portal in early August. This resulted in some of our members being unable to attend either because they were ineligible for an on-arrival visa or were discouraged from travelling without one,” he added.
Despite these challenges, Iyer said he was deeply grateful to their destination management company, Tangerine Tours, for their outstanding organisation of the event.
“Our thanks also go to the SLCB for their support and for enhancing the Gala Dinner with a vibrant cultural dance performance, which added a delightful touch to the event,” he added.
