Ramadia Ranmal rewarded as emerging hotel in SL at South Asian Business Awards 2019

Ramadia Ranmal, a scenic hotel on the banks of Bolgoda Lake in Moratuwa, was selected as the upcoming hotel in Sri Lanka at the recently-concluded South Asia Business Excellence Awards 2019 held recently at Hilton Colombo under the patronage of former President Maithripala Sirisena 

During the year 2012, Rodesha Group Chairman Rohan Fernando diversified to the leisure sector by acquiring Ranmal Holiday Resorts in Moratuwa, which was refurbished and rebranded as Ramadia Ranmal Holiday Resorts, giving it a new outlook. Today, Ramadia Ranmal Holiday Resorts is considered one of the best hotels in Moratuwa and a much sought after venue for banquets and cooperate outgoings. It’s also a preferred hotel to host family functions due to its vast space and six different banquet halls. 

The Dragon Boat on the Bolgoda Lake is also used for mini outings and also as a floating karaoke bar. The hotel next to Bolgoda Lake would also introduce a new water sports venture and a hydro therapy spa.

Fernando said that entering into the leisure sector was a challenge, as it was an entirely a new area of business for him. However, his entrepreneurial spirit and positive outlook had played a pivotal role in bringing the business up to its present standard. 

“I am at present in the process of building a second hotel with a 1,500 cover modern banquet hall, 50 rooms, 10 suites, which would be ready early next year. The draw of the hotel would be the roof top swimming pool and entertainment area, while there would be many firsts to Sri Lanka in it.”
