SLITHM, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training and the Policy Development Office of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) jointly organised an awareness seminar on the 13th year guaranteed education program. The seminar was attended by the tourism industry, Government vocational training organisations, students enrolled in the program as well as parents.
SLITHM Chairman Dilip De Silva welcomed the participants and thanked the Policy Development Office (PDO) of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for initiating the 13th year guaranteed education awareness program. Dr. Nandaka Molagoda, economist at the Policy Development Office (PDO) Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) explained the objectives of the seminar and invited the private and public sector stakeholders to come together to make the 13-year guaranteed training program a success.

Bhadra Withanage Director Education for all at Ministry of Education addressed the gathering. The highlight of the seminar was the panel discussion comprising Government technical and vocational training organisations and tourism industry participants.

Karunarathna, Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training Director, Skills Development T.P. Muditha Pathmajay, Tourism Industry Skills Council Chairman Zerney Packeer, Tourist Hotels Association Sri Lanka (THASL) Director Bandula Ekanayake and SLTHM lecturer and 13th year guaranteed education program coordinator Dheera Hettiarchi . The panel discussion was moderated by SLITHM Chairman Dilip de Silva. SLITHM students Devin De Silva and Masha Peiris were the masters of ceremony.
