Soaring above the high ‘C’s! Kuwait Airways supports Sri Lankan opera impresario

In keeping with its long standing tradition of supporting talent across the world, Kuwait Airways, the national airline of Kuwait and an airline whose impressive and colourful history in Sri Lanka spans over four decades, has taken aspiring opera impresario Eshan Wijewardena under its wings! 

Eshan, an immensely gifted tenor, who has trained under world renown tenor Salvatore Fisichella, has been selected as the only Sri Lankan to be invited to compete at the competitive auditions for the ‘Fabbrica’ young artist program at the Teatro Del Opera di Roma and jets off to Rome onboard Kuwait Airways.

Fabbrica is the Young Artist Program of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, a unique opportunity is presented for Italian and foreign talents whom have completed their training at conservatories and academies and are ready to embark on an international career. 

Young Eshan speaking at the Kuwait Airways office in Colombo said, “I am delighted and proud to cement by partnership with Kuwait Airways, the world’s youngest fleet and look forward to flying with Kuwait Airways in all my travel and wish to thank the airline for the assistance it has provided me in achieving my goals and representing Sri Lanka at the Fabbrica in Rome,” Country Manager for Kuwait Airways in Sri Lanka and Maldives Sudesh Rupasinghe said, “Kuwait Airways is very keen on assisting aspiring and talented artistes such as Eshan. Further the new destinations and aircraft operating in and out of Colombo have enabled the airline to offer a vastly improved and superior quality product coupled with access to the best tourist destinations in Europe along with the luxury and finesse of one of the best First and Business class cabins available today.” Apart from flying to Rome and Milan, Kuwait Airways is also happy to introduce their latest destinations of Larnaca in Cyprus and Nice in France. Both premier holiday destinations will be now accessible to passengers of Kuwait Airways as part of their summer flight schedule. 

These prime tourist destinations will all be serviced by the world’s youngest fleet which includes the airline’s flagship Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operating out of Kuwait which is indeed good news for travellers. Further, passengers will be treated to an Enhanced baggage allowance and free membership in Kuwait Airway’s Oasis Club Frequent Flyer program as an added benefit.
