The Sri Lanka Tourism Job Fair & Career Expo 2024 is set to take place on 7 December at the Arts Faculty of the University of Colombo.
The event organised by the Alumni Association of Tourism Economics and Hospitality management (AATEHM) and the Sustainable Tourism Unit (STU), aims to bridge the gap between aspiring professionals, industry leaders and organisations within the country’s dynamic tourism and hospitality sector.
As Sri Lanka’s premier tourism career event, the expo provides a unique opportunity for participants to engage with renowned companies, explore diverse career paths and secure internships or employment. It also serves as a valuable platform for networking with industry pioneers, gaining insights into current trends and discovering innovative career development options.
“This event is more than a career fair – it is a catalyst for the future of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry,” University of Colombo STU Coordinator Prof. D.A.C. Silva said.
He asserted that at a time where tourism industry is recognised as a thrust sector for economic recovery and growth, the event offers both job seekers and employers an opportunity to enter and expand the sector, supporting the development of a sustainable and thriving sector.
“By connecting aspiring professionals with industry leaders, we aim to foster innovation, sustainability and excellence, ensuring a resilient and dynamic workforce that can meet the demands of a rapidly evolving sector,” Prof. Silva added.
The event is designed to cater to recent graduates, experienced professional and individuals with an interest in the tourism industry. Employers will have the opportunity to showcase their brands, recruit top talent and contribute to shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s tourism and hospitality landscape.
