Sri Lanka participates at IFTM Top Resa Paris, Europe’s largest travel fair

IFTM Top Resa, France’s International Travel and Tourism Trade Fair held at Porte de Versailles, Paris, from 5-8 October.

IFTM Top Resa is the multi-target professional fair of tourism and travels, which covers all grounds for travel: business, leisure, groups, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions).

Representing Sri Lanka, Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranathunaga, State Minister of Regional Cooperation Tharaka Balasuriya, Secretary to Tourism Ministry S. Hettiarachchi and SriLankan Airlines Chairman Ashok Pathirage, BOI Chairman Sanjaya Mohottala, State Ministry Bureau Director General Savithri Panabokke, and from the Tourism Board Viranga Bandara also participated in the inauguration ceremony.

State Secretary in charge of Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne opened the IFTM Top Resa Fair at Porte de Versailles, and several Ministers of Tourism from all around the world were also there.

This year, the organisers launch a digital platform for IFTM, which will complement the tourism fair. This online solution will allow to follow all conferences and debates “online”, and to make appointments for a “physical” or a “virtual” meeting.

The exhibitors such as, Sri Lanka Tourism Board facilitated the participation of many Sri Lankan hoteliers and travel tour operators, SriLankan Airlines, Walkers Tours Ltd., Shanti Adventure Tours Ltd., etc. were present.

From the Sri Lanka Embassy in Paris, Ambassador Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama, Permanent Delegate of Sri Lanka, Second Secretary Dulanji Herath and Third Secretary Amila Dissanayake participated at the inauguration ceremony with the Sri Lankan delegation.
