Six Sri Lankan travel and tour companies – Apple Holidays Ltd., Bernard Tours Ltd., Figco Lanka Holidays Ltd., Luxe Asis Ltd., Nawamini Travels Ltd. and Trip Fusion Ltd. jointly participated with the representatives from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the Embassy of Sri Lanka at the ASTINDO Fair 2019, held at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) from 22 to 24 February.
ASTINDO Fair is Indonesia’s largest and most comprehensive tourism forum held annually for promoting destinations. The fair is visited by a large number of local and international participants, public, clients, media tour operators, airlines, travel accessory suppliers, etc. The Sri Lanka Pavilion portrayed the country’s rich and diverse tourism product, capturing heritage, pristine beaches, wildlife, cuisine, adventure, thrills, bliss, etc. with the recently launched Sri Lanka tourism logo ‘So Sri Lanka’. The Sri Lanka pavilion was ceremonially opened by the ASTINDO Chief Guest Dadang Rizki Ratman, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Indonesia following the ASTINDO opening on 22 February. The traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Ambassador of Sri Lanka and other representatives including the representatives of Sri Lankan companies and the ASTINDO leadership.
Sri Lanka’s participation at the ASTINDO Fair was a joint initiative of the Sri Lanka tourism industry, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTB) and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta.
