Sri Lankan Airlines received a Resilience Award at the 15th Changi Airline Awards recently in recognition of its efforts to maintain uninterrupted air links and support the movement of passengers including Vaccinated Travel Lane flights right through the pandemic.

This is the third occasion that Sri Lankan Airlines has been recognised and awarded in Singapore in the past two years.

Singapore Changi Airport is one of the busiest passenger and cargo hubs and the most awarded airport in the world. It is also the only airport in the world to have won World’s Best Airport by Skytrax for eight consecutive years. Being recognised by a major, world-class airport such as Changi Airport is a validation of Sri Lankan Airlines’ continued commitment to provide customers seamless connectivity between Colombo and Singapore even in times of adversity.

“We strive to provide our valued customers a consistent service backed by superior customer care, which has been made possible thanks to our excellent team. It is heartening that our efforts have been recognised multiple times and in a large hub like Singapore,” said Regional Manager Southeast Asia and Australasia of Sri Lankan Airlines Mohan Meegolle, who accepted the award from the Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airport.

Previous awards won by Sri Lankan Airlines in Singapore include an ‘Excellence Award’ by Singaporean cargo industry organisations and being named a top five airline by Absolute Cargo Growth in 2020. Sri Lankan also recently operated its longest scheduled cargo flight at 36-hours via Singapore.

Sri Lankan Airlines, the National Carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the Oneworld alliance, is an award-winning airline with a firm reputation as a global leader in service, comfort, safety, reliability, and punctuality. Launched in 1979, the airline’s hub is located at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo providing convenient connections to its global network (including codeshare partners) of 120 destinations in 61 countries around the world. Its direct route map covers major cities across the Europe, Australia, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia and the Far East. The Airline operates an all-Airbus fleet including a state-of-the-art A330-300 and modern A320/321neo aircraft.
