BMICH Director/CEO and former Chairman of Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Sunil Dissanayake addressed the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. senior management and their deputies as the Guest Speaker at the launch of their ‘Smart Leader’ leadership development program, recently.
The program was inaugurated by Airport and Aviation Services Chairman Dhammika Ranatunga and Executive Director Sanjeewa Wijeratne and coordinated by Head of HR M.C.G. Mahipala.
Dissanayake spoke on the topic ‘Soft Skills for Effective Leadership’. This was an opportunity for the veteran corporate personality to share his personal leadership experiences in his 44-year career both locally and overseas and to express his thoughts on the importance of ‘Practicing what you Preach’.
The importance of soft skills such as integrity, ethics, values, humbleness, humility, handling egoism, empathy, self-regulation, discipline being a role model and leading by example were the core of his message. He concluded by stating that ‘end is not the end in fact E-N-D means effort never dies’.
