Real estate company Trillium Group launched its first $ 4.5 million luxury hotel last week, targeting a niche market to cater business travellers including local and foreign tourists.
Speaking at the Trillium Hotel launch, Trillium Group Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that the leisure sector in the world’s hotel industry had high demand and the new hotel expected to bring a lot of foreign currencies into the country by stepping into the leisure industry.
“We have invested approximately $ 4.5 million in the Trillium Hotel project, which has set a benchmark in design, luxury and comfort with its contemporary features to meet the demands of hotel guests,” he added.
Pointing out that hotel industry turnover in Sri Lanka was around Rs. 4 billion a year, he said countries like Maldives, Singapore and Hong Kong earned big revenue by catering to niche markets. He insisted that Trillium Hotel’s main objective was to capture the niche market by forming a renowned trademark in the leisure sector with unique ideas and new concepts in the hotel industry.
Ratnayake also said that the company’s upcoming developments would increase more commercial spaces and residential buildings and the company expected to launch more hotel projects following the positive progress of Trillium Hotel.
The price of a room at Trillium Hotel starts from $ 158 upwards. The fully-furnished rooms with customised personal amenities will also have terraced balconies and 24-hour security services, meeting room facilities, ample parking, butler and cyber butler services, laundry options, telecommunication facilities and infinity pool with the panoramic view of the city.
Trillium Hotels also offers private dining arrangements and spaces for private events, roof top bar and lounge design in Victorian style ambience. The hotel also has a coffee shop and restaurants which offer the finest cocktails and a wide range of international cuisine, breakfast buffets, live music, sporting events and themed nights.
The Trillium Hotel is located at No. 210, Torrington Avenue, Colombo 7. The hotel is a six-storey building which is a 10-minute walk away from the city’s largest convention centre, the BMICH, Independence Square and Arcade Shopping Complex. Trillium Hotel is in close proximity to manifold restaurants, night-hubs, casinos, shopping malls, parks and city attractions.
