Yala Blocks 3 and 4 are an eyesore, causes concern among wildlife enthusiasts

Wildlife enthusiasts complain that the Yala Blocks Three and Four bungalow and camp sites have been closed and most of their trails covered with shrub jungles, making them impassable.

This was after Blocks Three to Five were opened, as an intelligent move to ease off the congestion within Block One.

However, wildlife enthusiasts who visited Yala last week were aghast to see the state of Blocks Three and Four.

“It would be a great move if Director General Wildlife would pay more attention to improving the general conditions as it would justify the vision of the Department and making the millions spent so far justified,” a regular visitor to the Yala told the Daily FT.

“If these conditions were to improve I am positive the revenue from visitors would dramatically improve and congestion at Block One considerably eased,” he added.

Representations made in this regard to Director General Wildlife haven’t elicited the desired response, causing disappointment to wildlife enthusiasts.
