‘Young Skål Club – The Future Voice of Tourism’ launch today

When Lonely Plant selects Sri Lanka as the top destination to visit in 2019 Skål International Sri Lanka is creating a platform for young executives in the tourism/hospitality industry to meet/greet/network and learn by launching Young SKAL in Sri Lanka.

Young Skål is a forum created to groom future leaders in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. It offers a platform for the upcoming young executives between the ages of 20 to 35 years.  It encourages and promotes networking and interaction with the industry professionals enabling youth to expand their horizons and to take on future challenges of the tourism industry, both locally and internationally.  

Young Skåleagues from all over the world are connected via social media on LinkedIn and Facebook enabling them to share information and knowledge. In particular the main goals of Young Skål are:

nProviding a platform for networking, socialising and knowledge sharing amongst the youth involved in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

nActively encourage the training and development and provide experience and exposure to the youth in related fields.

nPromote ethical competition and sustainable industry and community development. 

To coincide with the launching of YOUNG Skål in Sri Lanka, Skål International is organising an evening seminar on the title ‘The Future of Tourism and Hospitality’.

The event will be held on 30 October at the Galadari Hotel at 5:30 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event is

Jetwing Group Chairman Hiran Cooray, whilst the panelists are 

Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Chairman Sunil Disanayake and Dushy Jayaweera – Director Young Skål and Student Exchange, Skål Asian Area and Regional Director – Airline Representation, Hemas Aviation Ltd. Moderator is Nisthar Cassim, Founding Editor and Chief Executive of Daily FT.
