Recognised for excellence and contribution to industry at annual Sri Lanka Tourism Awards
Amaya Lake Resort Dambulla has won the award for Best Four Star Hotel at the annual Sri Lanka Tourism Awards 2011.The coveted accolade was presented by the Chief Guest Deputy Minister of Economic Development Laxman Yapa Abeywardena, and places Amaya Lake above all other four star classified hotels in the country.
Currently in its fifth consecutive year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Awards pays tribute to organisations and individuals for their excellence and inspired achievements whilst contributing towards the strengthening and empowering of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.

Built in 1993, Amaya Lake is located within the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka, set on the banks of the Kandalama Lake. The resort offers guests a peaceful setting amidst a forest-covered landscape. The resort emulates a traditional Sri Lankan village-style settlement under a cooling canopy of tropical trees.
Its atmosphere is enhanced by a range of services such as a luxurious swimming pool, a spa featuring Ayurvedic treatments, an open-air bar lounge and restaurants specialising in international and local cuisine. The resort has won numerous awards in almost 20 years of operation, including a Presidential Award in 2010.
