Amaya Leisure appoints veteran hotelier Samantha as GM

Veteran hotelier Samantha Ratnayake has been appointed as the General Manager of Amaya Hills, Kandy and Langdale Resort & Spa, Nuwara Eliya.

Ratnayake, a qualified hotelier, gained most of his management experience in tourism by serving Amaya Hills, Kandy over a long period of time.

He is the member of the Institute of Hospitality, UK (formerly HCIMA) and counts over 15 years experience in the trade.  



He was educated at Dharmaraja College, Kandy, and completed his studies there, sitting for the Advanced Level examination successfully.

He continued his studies and obtained a Diploma in Accountancy.

After that, he entered into the field of hospitality by joining Heritance Kandalama and that experience promoted him to work in Maldives.

Back in Sri Lanka, he joined Amaya Hills, Kandy as an accountant, following which he held the positions of Assistant Manager and Manager of Amaya Hills till 2010. 

In 2011, he proved his talents by undertaking all the responsibilities of managing, planning and executing the refurbishment and rehabilitation of the Langdale Resort & Spa, Nuwara Eliya.
