Renowned as the best wayside pit stop in restaurant culture, Wayamba Café Forest in Kurunegala will go Vegas style in signage and in the services offered at the restaurant on the upper floor and pastry corner on the ground floor, with a the multi flavoured ice cream parlour as an added facility.
Ever since their soft opening, and with tourist arrivals on the rise, the Café Forest, three kilo metres on the Dambulla Road from Kurunegala, has realised their potential. Having opened the complex last year, the previous management could not come to terms with how to market and then cater to a foreign and local traveller. Amaya Leisure PLC, under the management of CDC Conventions, has given this restaurant a lifeline and to the tourism industry in Sri Lanka, their experience in the hospitality management sector. With the World Tourism Day to be celebrated on 27 September, the restaurant management has already planned various activities and are on the move to celebrate the dawn of 2013 on the 31 December at the complex premises and will host a five day road show with an electronic media channel in charge.
For the people of Wayamba, this has become the pride of culinary industry since the word went around to the corporate clientele and high spending family groups in the Kurunegala town limits and suburbs. It is also a popular MICE centre within the corporate sector as well.
