Asia Pacific Onboard Travel 2015 Forum kicks off on Sunday

The Asia Pacific Onboard Travel (APOT) 2015 Forum will kick off in Colombo on Sunday bringing a large number of industry leaders and professionals together.

APOT Asia is an organisation that brings together tourism and hospitality leaders in the Asia Pacific region. Aimed at collectively inventing and improving new strategies to attract more tourists to the region, APOT Asia is a global body with a member-base ranging from airline in-flight products and service suppliers, airline caterers, catering product suppliers, airline managements, hospitality partners and media organisations.

According to APOT Asia founder CEO Keerthi Hapugesdeniya, APOT Asia is a not-for-profit organisation and has over 400 members. Some of the members of APOT Asia include Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Oman Air, Delta, Qantas, Virgin, Lufthansa, British Airways, Airbus, Boeing, Thales, Panasonic, DNATA, Gate Gourmet, LSG Sky Chefs and Alpha Flight Services. 

Hosted by SriLankan Airlines, the three-day APOT 2015 Forum will be held at Hilton Colombo from 31 May to 2 June.

The event includes APOT chef’s competition, keynote and motivational speakers, panel sessions, networking, golf, world biggest tea party, a chef’s competition and much more.

The Forum proper will kick off on Monday with Aviation Minister as the Chief Guest.

The day’s sessions include presentations by Mexican Institute of Energy and Biological Medicine. Tijuana, Mexico, Dr. Carlos Orozco speaking on ‘Instant wellbeing DNA tests for Airline passengers and crew, how to increase food and beverage taste in high altitudes’; Airline media consultant London UK Jeremy Clark presentation on ‘Why food matters’ and Chief Ayurveda Physician of Heritance Hotels – Sri Lanka Dr. Nalindra Wickramarathne presentation on ‘Ayurveda medication for today’s business executives’.

The evening will have a panel session with industry leaders on how to manage work and family with Australia’s Pat Osborne as the moderator.

On the final day, delegates will participate in outdoor events including tour to a tea garden and sunset party at Heritance Ahungalla.
