Ltd. represented by its COO Lakshman Niyangoda as well as Bart Ferwerda, Educationist, visited the world-renowned Swiss Hotelfachschule Lucerne SHL – established in 1909 – to analyse the progress on the establishment of its first Asian campus in the region.
Switzerland’s hotel schools have an excellent reputation around the globe. Switzerland’s history of excellence in hotel management began more than 100 years ago when the first hotels were built in Switzerland. The Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Lucerne SHL has over 100 years of experience in bringing out one of the best qualified management personnel in hotels.
By the time the education programme is achieved, the successful candidates will have the renowned ‘Swiss Hospitality Touch’. SHL graduates have the reputation for being able to take immediate charge of hotel operations without going through any induction by their employers. The modular system focusing on practicality is exceptional and will be also applied on supporting the hospitality industry in additional modular education as an additional focus.
The delegates met with the officials of the Luzern Hotel School in Switzerland including Kurt Imhof, Director, Christa Augsburger, Dean of Studies, and Timo Albiez, Project Director, to establish the formula on how to take forward this project in Sri Lanka.
Luzern SHL’s first Asian campus has received the full support of the Government of Sri Lanka which sees in its Sri Lanka campus as a way to further raise the reputation of the tourism and hospitality industry in the country.
