Best Western has opened its first hotel in Russia.

The 970-room Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre, in the country’s capital city of Moscow is the largest hotel in Best Western’s portfolio of more than 4,000 hotels worldwide.

The Vega hotel was originally built in anticipation of the 1980 Olympics and remodelled in 2007. The three-plus star property features three restaurants, a coffee shop, and lobby bar. The hotel also has 15 separate meetings spaces, a business centre and fitness facility featuring Turkish baths and a Finnish sauna.

The hotel is located in Izmaylovo Village, one of Moscow’s most picturesque regions. It is within walking distance of Izmailovsky Park, Izmailovo Souvenir Market and Aqua Circus. It is also only a two-minute walk to the Partizanskaya metro station, providing easy access to the Kremlin and Moscow’s business districts.

“As Russia continues to attract more business and leisure travellers, we felt it was a perfect time to join Best Western’s global family of hotels and take on its internationally recognised name and reputation,” said Valery Maximov, General Manager of the Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre. “Our property has tremendous appeal to corporate and leisure travellers, and we’re confident that the brand’s loyalty club, Best Western Rewards, and sales programs will help attract travellers globally.”
