British Airways Holidays is predicting January 6th will be bumper holiday Monday, the day when more summer holidays will be booked than any other time of the year. New research from British Airways Holidays found that a third of Brits claim not to have taken a holiday in 2013, with the average worker finishing the year with five days annual leave unused. Of the third of people who didn’t holiday in 2013, 56% say they couldn’t afford it, 13% were saving for a holiday in 2014 and one in ten couldn’t get time off work. This year, 15% of people say they already booked their holiday during the festive season. British Airways Holidays saw a 102% increase in the number of holidays booked on Christmas Day and a 62% increase on Boxing Day compared to last year. This together with signs of an improving economy suggests ‘Bumper Holiday Monday’ is set to be busier than ever. It takes the average person three weeks to book a holiday after deciding to go.
