Cathay Pacific has confirmed that Honolulu, the capital city of Hawaii, will be added to its codeshare co-operation with oneworld alliance member, Japan Airlines.
The expanded agreement will see Cathay Pacific’s CX code placed on Japan Airlines flights operating from Tokyo’s Narita and Haneda airports, Osaka and Nagoya to Honolulu.
Tickets for the new codeshare services are now available for sale for travel commencing 1 December 2010.
Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Tony Tyler said, “We are delighted to introduce Honolulu as the newest addition to our codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines. Hawaii’s natural beauty and world-famous beaches attract visitors from around the world and this enhanced arrangement will certainly make it easier for Cathay Pacific passengers to travel to this popular holiday destination.”
The latest addition is a further expansion of an existing agreement, which covers both airlines’ services between Japan and Hong Kong as well as Japan Airlines’ 13 domestic routes.
Cathay Pacific has also recently enhanced its network in North America through new codeshare arrangements with WestJet and Alaska Airlines.
