Cathay Pacific Airways appoints Aldric Chau as Country Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways appoints Aldric Chau as Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives based in Colombo. Aldric Chau takes over from Anna Choi who will move on to take another management position within the company. Untitled-1

Aldric has been with the airline since September 2008. Before assuming the role of Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives, Aldric served as Lean Project Manager in the airline’s Financial Services Department, managing cross-departmental process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency of the organisation. Working with the Hong Kong International Airport team, he was project manager of the Aircraft Ground Time Optimisation project, adopting Lean concept and methodology to improve efficiency of the airline’s flight turnarounds and on-time performance at the airport hub.

Prior to that, he spent six years with the airline’s Inflight Services Department. As the Inflight Sales Manager overseeing the inflight travel retail program, Discover the Shop, Aldric saw a rapid expansion of the airline’s inflight retail business. Over the years he has contributed to evolution of the award-winning inflight sales program, which won accolades such as DFNI Inflight Travel Retailer of the Year 2011 and Frontier Awards Inflight/Marine Retailer of the Year 2010 among others.

Aldric was born and studied in Hong Kong, where he graduated with a BA Hons in Translation and Interpretation from City University of Hong Kong. He completed his MBA at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2014.
