Guests staying at Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka, which will open on 1 April 2013, can enrol in the recently launched Centara – The 1 Card program and earn points that are then redeemed for free hotel nights in Sri Lanka and across the Centara network, including Thailand.

Membership of Centara – The 1 Card is free, and further information and a joining form can be found at www.centara1card.com.

Alexander Glauser, Area General Manager of Centara Hotels & Resorts Sri Lanka, said that membership is open to all nationalities and that the system allows guests to quickly build up a large number of points.

“Members earn points when they stay at a Centara resort, dine at a Centara restaurant, or relax in a Centara spa,” he says. “The points are then redeemed for free nights at Centara hotels worldwide, with no blackout dates.

“We are keen to show people our new resort here in Sri Lanka, which has special opening rates at present, and if guests are members of Centara – The 1 Card, they can quickly collect points that go towards free hotel room nights in Sri Lanka or elsewhere in Centara’s international network, including an extremely wide selection of hotels and resorts in Thailand.”

Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka is set next to the beach at Passikudah Bay, a long stretch of coastline renowned for its calm and shallow waters, ideal for swimming and water sports. The outer bay has an extensive coral reef and there are scattered coral communities within the bay, together forming one of the best-known reef systems in the Indian Ocean. The resort, which is on the east side of the island, is 35 kilometres north of Batticaloa.
