Chamber of Tourism promotes Sri Lanka in Qatar

Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka President A.M. Jufer who was on official visit to the State of Qatar last week met several organisations in Qatar and had bilateral discussions on promotion of tourism and investments to Sri Lanka. Jaufer had a cordial meeting with Hamed A. Al Mulk, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Qatar Hospitality who agreed to support the Sri Lanka chamber of tourism to promote outbound tour operations from Qatar to Sri Lanka. He also had a very successful meeting with the Director General of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry where they agreed to recognise Sri Lanka Chamber of Tourism as their co-partner in Sri Lanka on business promotion. Aiming at strengthening the ties between both Chambers, Director General of Qatar Chamber accepted an invitation extended by Jaufer to visit Sri Lanka with a business delegation from Qatar shortly. Jaufer also had an opportunity to meet the Head of Qatar Investment Authority, Sheikh Kaisal Bin Saound Al Thani and officials of Qatar Holdings. Speaking at the meeting, the Head of Qatar Investment Authority endorsed that as Sri Lanka always had excellent relation with Qatar and the peace and security in the country enables sustainable development. They are willing to explore opportunities for investment in Sri Lanka. In addition, Deputy Chief of International Affairs of Qatar Charity, Ibrahim Zainal whom Jaufer had bilateral discussions agreed to support for a housing project for poor families living in the Eastern Province.
