Cinnamon Air, Sri Lanka’s premier domestic airline, recently hosted Miss Universe China 2013, Jin Ye and a selection of current Miss Universe China 2014 finalists on a scenic flight from the Bentota river water aerodrome to Water’s Edge, Colombo City on 31 August 2014, as part of the finalists’ pre-pageant tour of Sri Lanka. Cinnamon Air operated one of its luxurious Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian aircraft, piloted by Captain Luca Solari and First Office Rajiv Wickramage, along the coastal route between Bentota and Colombo at approximately 4,500 feet, in order to give the beauties on board a spectacular vantage point from which to admire the stunning scenery below. In addition to the beauties on board, the scenic flight also carried a film crew from Sri Lanka’s national television station, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation. The 25 minute flight conducted by Cinnamon Air was designed to share the exciting experience of taking off and landing on water, whilst providing the very busy finalists with a rapid transfer option between the Southern Coast and Colombo with the added advantage of affording the finalists a bird’s eye view of Sri Lanka’s spectacular coastline. Vivi Tian, Linda Cui, Lu Meng, Mayi Peng and Guo Wang were the lucky finalists who were able to fly alongside the reigning Miss Universe China 2013, Jin Ye. It was the finalists’ first ever experience in an amphibian aircraft and they stated that they had never experienced something so exciting before. They continued to say that they had enjoyed their stay in Sri Lanka at the beautiful beaches and the lovely hotels and that the scenic flight with the aerial views of the island was the cherry on top of a wonderful stay in the country.
