With 25 angels all 10 ft tall standing proud with their heads titled upwards trumpeting a welcome to the season of goodwill and joy, Cinnamon Grand once again takes home the prize for the most creative and enchanting Christmas decorations in town, or perhaps even in the country.

Known for their style of creating a legendary atmosphere in the city during this time of the year, the hotel has upped their game having opted for a dreamy theme of pink and white, complimented by the bedazzling sight of angels lining up on either side of the driveway.

The implementation of the hotel’s outdoor decorations was done by the engineering team led by the dynamic Chief Engineer Panduka Wijeyawardena.

Having worked day and night to fabricate these angels, alongside assisting the hotel’s festive and other needs, a team of 12 engineers concluded the initial modelling of the angels in just 15 days. The 12 engineers were divided in to three groups with each group responsible for one section of the angel. Team led by Kashyapa were in charge of designing the body, Kumarasiri and his team the skirt and Ranga’s team the head and the wings. The latter team was also the hands behind the mesmerising lighting effect in the garden.

Made out of chicken mesh, iron rods and aluminium bars and then painted in gold, this team, together with the help of a few others installed the figurines in the garden a few days before 1 December.

And the result was the spectacular line up one simply cannot miss!

The entire theme and design was conceptualised by none other than Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts Sector Head – City Hotels Rohan Karr whose love for the season is evident with the stunning displays he and his team come up with every year.

With people from all parts of the country driving in to take in the beauty of these entrancing figurines, it must be said that for Cinnamon Grand – the undisputed trendsetter in hospitality – curating lifestyle experiences is only second nature to them!
