Cinnamon Grand’s stars associates recognised at Q4 Associates’ Meeting

As the financial year 2016/2017 comes to close, premier five-star city hotel Cinnamon Grand held its Q4 Associates’ Meeting on Tuesday, 4 April at the Oak Room.

With the participation of close to 500 team members, the Associates’ Meeting was held to celebrate yet another successful year, rewarding and recognising deserving individuals and teams and discussing the future plans for the hotel.

The ‘Grand Stars’ that were nominated by each department head was shortlisted to five members on a vote basis and were acknowledged with a cash price, dinner for two vouchers, a bottle of sparkling and a letter off recognition from Cinnamon Grand General Manager and Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts Sector Head-City Hotels Rohan Karr. 

From among these five, two were recognised as ‘Grand Super Stars’. Nishel Gunasekera from Marketing Communications and Marian Constantine from Kitchen department were thus honoured for their outstanding performances.

A special GM’s Award was given to U. Prashanthan from F&B for his commendable support towards the Jaffna Festival of the hotel.

Kalupahana (Engineering), G.D.A. Darshana (Kitchen Stewarding) and J.P.R. Thakshila (Banquet Operations) were recognised and rewarded with Grand Star awards.

Karr also called on the teams that supported the resounding success that was the Jaffna Festival. Having fed over 4,000 persons during the 10-day promotion, these teams were applauded and appreciated for their part in the making of and carrying out their duties beyond expectations for this project.
