Cinnamon Lakeside welcomes new Executive Assistant Manager

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo welcomes a seasoned hospitality industry professional, Calvin Stevenson who joins the hotel as Executive Assistant Manager.  With 26 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Stevenson has served the Starwood chain of Hotels and Resorts for 20 years.

Having previously held positions as Executive Assistant Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, Food and Beverage Manager, Stevenson’s career has spanned various hotels across Asia including in his native country Malaysia in addition to India and Bangladesh.

His impressive achievements include responsibility for the successful opening of the Westin Dhaka, several Sheraton hotels and re-branding of hotels in the Asia Pacific region including Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and the Maldives.  

Born and bred in Malaysia, Stevenson is a graduate of the La Salle School and speaks four different languages including Malay (Bahasa), Mandarin, Tamil and English.

His intentions for the hotel include introducing and enhancing an array of cuisines, guaranteeing efficient customer service, imparting a comprehensive knowledge of food and beverages and to bring in innovation.

“I believe in continuous change to make life exciting and to also ensure guests will have something new to experience every time they visit the hotel,” he stated.

He added that his objective is to train associates to bring out the best in themselves and also believes that passion is something everyone has and needs to comprehend to achieve success.
