It is therefore very important to make this whole industry more sustainable and so we pay due consideration to the green aspect. There is an urgency and importance in being sustainable in order to make the industry more susceptible to an increase in tourist arrivals. Cinnamon Lodge is the pioneer on this aspect and we are delighted that our efforts were recognised, by way of winning this prestigious award. The Switch Asia project vision and objective of ensuring the long term sustainability of the Sri Lankan tourism industry through effective environmental practices should indeed be lauded,” said Cinnamon Lodge and Chaaya Village Habarana General Manager Ghazzali Mohideen.
