Classic Travel expands travel solutions to Katunayake

Classic Travel, recognised globally for its renowned experience in the field of travel and leisure and also considered the leading travel companion in Sri Lanka for its total travel solutions to both the corporate and leisure markets, recently expanded its operations again by opening a branch office at Unit 18-(C4), Plaza Complex, Katunayake – Export Processing Zone.



The new branch office will enable clients in and around the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Katunayake to obtain travel information and fulfil all travel related services from airline ticketing, worldwide hotel reservations, visa handling services, passport extension services, travel insurance to booking of holiday packages to any destination worldwide. Speaking on the occasion Classic Travel CEO Suresh Mendis said: “It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of our latest branch office in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone.  We at Classic Travel now have the opportunity of bringing the superior services that we’re renowned for to the hub of export activities in the country.”

The branch was declared opened by the Chairman of the FTZ Manufacturers Association Dhammika Fernando, Senior Committee member of FTZ Manufacturers Association Neil Umagiliya, Director of Classic Travel Saif Yusoof and the Classic CEO in the presence of the company’s senior management staff.

Commenting on the purpose of this initiative, Mendis said: “This initiative is solely dedicated to service our customers who are based in the zone. The FTZ brings a great amount of revenue to this country, thus a lot of travel takes place and by having a branch office in Katunayake that is in close proximity to such growth, it will provide the opportunities for the customers at the FTZ to experience quality travel solutions and services delivered by Classic Travel.”

In another milestone, Classic Travel recently welcomed its 100,000th fan on its official Facebook page and is now officially recognised as the first travel solutions provider in Sri Lanka to have as many fans on a single social media page.

The Classic Travel head office is located in Colombo with branches in World Trade Centre, Hambantota, Galle, Ratnapura and Bangladesh and also in the Maldives. Classic Travel is a preferred sales agent for Star Cruises Singapore, which is the leading cruise liner in the Asia Pacific region.
