Culinary Sri Lankan delights at Cinnamon Lakeside Hopper Night

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo’s popular Hopper Night is back. Every month, the hotel creates a spread of authentic Sri Lankan food at a reasonable price to delight the army of Hopper Night enthusiasts. This time the event will take place on Friday 8 June from 7p.m. to 11p.m. Diners will enjoy a blissful evening at the Terrace beside the hotel’s infinity pool and the Beira waterfront.

We may travel the world, but nothing quite hits the spot like a good old fashioned Sri Lankan feast.  Crispy, stuffed Hoppers and egg Hoppers, String Hoppers, Kottu Rotti, vegetables and meat curries, Pittu, Babath, Chicken Curry, Fish Ambulthiyal, and many other Sri Lankan favourites will be prepared by the Chefs and will be served piping hot. A Calypso band makes its way around each table taking requests and entertaining guests.  

Just about every imaginable local dessert will decorate the dessert counter. Be it lavariya, dodol, milk toffee, kokis, kavum, asmi, halapa, mung kavum, coconut rock or banana fritters, every bite will take you further back in time to when these treats were prepared at home just for you.  To complete the journey, the staff will then serve a traditional ginger tea.  When the night draws to a close you may find comfort in the assurance that you would not have to wait long for another Hopper Night.
