Diethelm Travel Sri Lanka (formerly known as Hemtours) launched its new fleet of 40 cars valued at over Rs. 250 million to exclusively service the guests of Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.

The fleet consists of 40 of the latest Nissan Blubird vehicles which conform to international safety standards in which guests can travel in luxury with experienced and trained chauffeurs at the wheel.

“We have been in partnership with Taj Samudra Hotel for over eight years with the presence of our travel counters providing comfortable travel facilities to their guests.   Considering the boom in the tourism industry and arrival of up market clientele, we decided to upgrade our transport services at the hotel.  The value of the investment was over Rs. 250 million,” Diethelm Travel Chairman Abbas Esufally said.

“We thank all stakeholders for making this happen. Taj Samudra being one of the most prestigious five star hotels in Colombo with two more hotels operating in Bentota and Seeduwa will no doubt benefit from the new fleet of vehicles where they could provide comfortable and safe travel facilities to their clients,” he added. “Today we have an up market profile of clients staying with us due to the introduction of the minimum rate by the government.

The introduction of this new fleet of luxury vehicles we believe will not only cater to their needs but will exceed their expectations,” Taj Samudra Colombo General Manager and Area Director Sri Lanka and the Maldives Rohit Khosla said.
