Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is putting on a buffet of North Indian cuisine fit for a Maharaja.  Indulge in this North Indian Dinner Buffet infused with aromatic traditional spices.  Chef Rana of New Delhi is Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo’s very own expert in North Indian cuisine.  He has won the hearts of Colombo diners with his bubbly personality, exceptional culinary skills and surprising proficiency in colloquial Sinhalese.

Chef Rana brings to The Dining Room tastes from around the North Indian Region, presenting some delectable dishes infused with rich Indian spices all included in the wide variety of dishes available during this promotion.

North Indian curries usually have thick, moderately spicy and creamy gravies.  Dried fruits and nuts often add a unique twist to these curries.  Dairy products such as milk, cream, cottage cheese, ghee and yoghurt play a vital role in the cooking of both savoury and sweet dishes. Thanks to the fact that such a rich variety of fruit and vegetable is available at all times of the year in these areas, the region produces a dazzling array of vegetarian dishes. North India is known for its variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes.  Its popular regional dishes are recognisable for their distinctive tastes.

The kebab dishes we relish so much are a traditional Mughal special originating from Persia but adapted to meet local tastes.

The region is home to tandoori roti and naans (bread made in a clay tandoor oven), stuffed parathas (flaky Indian bread with different kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian fillings) and kulchas (bread made from fermented dough).  Rice is also popular and prepared in elaborate biryanis and pulaos.

Enjoy delicious North Indian dishes created to perfection from the succulent Tangri Kebab resonating traditional Mughal flavours to the Jhinga Jalfrezi for just Rs. 1,818 ++++ per person.  The buffet opens at 7p.m. until 11p.m. from 8 22 May at The Dining Room.
