Div. Secretariat – Bentota felicitates Sanjeeva Perera

A felicitation ceremony was organised by the Divisional Secretariat and Government Officials of Bentota Zone to appreciate services rendered by Bentota Beach Hotel General Manager Sanjeeva Perera.

Perera has singlehandedly been the driving force behind many community initiatives, resulting in a better livelihood for the people in the area of Bentota. Humanitarian work such as donating dry rations, linen, water and other basic needs to affected people in different parts of the country due to various natural disasters, spearheading educational and awareness programs to address various staggering issues in the area such as dengue prevention and AIDS, preserving the environment and enhancing knowledge on river protection, waste management, recycling and reuse, driving tree planting programs, beach cleaning and conservation programs, environmental best practices and even personal development initiatives such as educational programs on hygiene and grooming for school children and the area community were some of the noteworthy initiatives.

The officials present at the ceremony also recognised the steps that had been laid down by the Leisure Group of John Keells in order to develop livelihood of the village. Whilst spearheading the team as General Manager for Bentota Beach Hotel, Perera is also the President of the Bentota Beruwala Hoteliers Association, Executive Committee Member of Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association and Executive Committee Member of the Hotels Association. He was honoured at the ceremony for his tremendous effort and steps taken in the development of the Bentota community.
