Untitled-2The world’s largest passenger aircraft comes to Austria on 1 July, as Emirates announces that it will operate one of its two scheduled daily flights into Vienna International Airport with its iconic A380 aircraft.

The airline, which has carried almost three million passengers on the Dubai-Vienna route since it was launched on 1 May 2004, will fly its three-class A380 with 519 seats – 14 in First Class, 76 in Business Class and 429 in Economy – on one of its daily services to Vienna (EK127/EK128) and retain its second daily Boeing 777-300ER service (EK125/EK126) with a seating capacity of 360.

“Over the years, we have gradually seen an increase in demand for our services in Austria thanks to the strong response and support from our customers.  We are very pleased now, as a further step, to bring our flagship A380 to Austria, offering an unrivalled travel experience for passengers in all classes,” said Emirates Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori.

“Austria, as a leader in the hospitality industry and Vienna as a world class city, are sure to benefit from a boost to tourism and job creation as well as experiencing a positive impact on the economy as they welcome more visitors from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. We would like to thank Vienna Airport and the City of Vienna for their strong support which has enabled us to bring the A380 to this beautiful city,” he continued.

“Emirates’ decision to deploy the world’s largest passenger jet for its scheduled flights to Vienna underlines the great importance of our economic region and the Vienna/Bratislava catchment area for the airline. This is a very special honour and we are now pleased to belong to the group of A380 airports,” said Vienna International Airport Management Board Member Julian Jäger.

On Emirates’ A380, First Class passengers can look forward to quiet luxury in the comfort of their private suites and enjoy the industry’s only Onboard Shower Spa. First Class and Business Class passengers can socialise and sample canapes and cocktails at popular Onboard Lounge and passengers in all classes can enjoy the gourmet cuisine, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment ice with over 2,200 channels and free Wi-Fi, which is available on all Emirates A380s.
