Emirates marked Universal Children’s Day on 20 November with the launch of the latest additions to the colourful family of ‘Fly with Me Monsters’. Young travellers can now look forward to meeting Zaive, Oggie, AirBoe, and Fangdango, who join eight original monster characters already onboard, the next time they travel on Emirates. On the day dedicated to encourage understanding between children around the world, the Emirates website also showcased a special make-over with children-inspired artwork. The launch of the new monster-themed toys aimed at pre-school children, truly celebrates the creative spirit of young globalistas with their unique names coming from across the globe – from Emirates’ Facebook community, employees around the world and an Emirates’ Skywards Skysurfer member. The playful monsters - Zaive, Oggie, AirBoe and Fangdango have very distinct characters and interests, and are ideal travel companions to fuel a child’s imagination. Zaive, with a distinct yellow Mohawk hairstyle, is an ardent sports fan and is likely to be seen at one of the many sporting events Emirates supports such as the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens. Oggie is an intrepid traveller and has a particular fondness for taking self-portraits in front of iconic landmarks, while AirBoe is an aviation geek and plane-spotter. Fangdango, an authority on all things cultural, enjoys reading books, listening to music and watching films on ice, Emirates’ award winning inflight entertainment system. “Nearly 3.5 million monster toys have been distributed to Emirates’ young customers since their launch in 2012, and the popularity of these characters has been very encouraging. Now, our frequent young travellers can look forward to building their own collection of toys,” said Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Service Delivery Terry Daly. “We work hard to create an imaginative product tailored to children, because that ultimately contributes to a great family travel experience.” The new monster toys will come in two categories; Blanket Buddies - plush characters wrapped around soft polar fleece blankets, and Seat Belt Critters - little toys worn around a seat belt to encourage safety. For families travelling in Emirates’ premium cabins, the journey just got more memorable with the introduction of a dedicated range of new monster-inspired toys exclusive to Emirates’ 35 lounges around the world. An extension of Camus from the first collection of monsters, children can enjoy using a plush blanket, Quiksilver travel wallet and activity pack of the blue monster design, across the network of lounges or in the dedicated children’s play area in the lounges in Dubai. All Emirates flights offer a selection of the monster toys for pre-schoolers and older children can enjoy the Quiksilver collection of travel-inspired products co-designed with iconic lifestyle brand Quiksilver, on long-haul flights over five hours. Young flyers can also enjoy the existing range of children’s products including the E-kids magazine, colour pencils, branded Emirates rucksacks and cooler bags, children’s eyeshades and the popular Dr. Seuss books. The new toy collections combined with an updated in-flight entertainment system ice with over 50 hours of kid-friendly TV, and a dedicated children’s on-board menu with its own colourful livery, underpins Emirates’ commitment to providing families with a hassle-free, relaxing journey.
