Forty SMEs attend ASMET’s sixth AGM

The sixth Annual General Meeting of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises in Tourism (ASMET) Sri Lanka was held on 25 October at the Monara Restaurant of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Colombo.



A fellowship event followed the AGM with the Keynote Address by the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Bashwara Senanka Gunarathna.  

Other speakers at the occasion included the Managing Director of the SLTPB Rumy Jauffer, the Past Presidents of ASMET Mervyn Fernandopulle and Siri deSilva, and the incumbent President of ASMET Suresh deMel.

The SLTDA/SLTPB Chairman was also invited to launch ASMET’s redesigned website and booking portal.  John Keells Computer Services (JKCS) is developing ASMET’s online presence as a CSR initiative to benefit Sri Lanka’s SME sector in tourism. Chief Operating Officer of JKCS J.C. Ekanayake also participated.

Forty ASMET members attended the event and took advantage of the opportunity to meet the new Chairman of SLTDA/SLTPB and network with important invitees from the Government and industry, ASMET’s Executive Committee, and fellow members from various parts of the country.
