Gala awards night to recognise 30 winners of Cinnamon Travel Blogger Awards

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in partnership with the national carrier SriLankan Airlines are gearing up for the up-coming Travel Bloggers Conference on 7 June at Cinnamon Grand in Colombo. The success of the first conference in 2014 has paved the way for an even bigger experience this year as the conference is set to be coupled with the Cinnamon Travel Blogger Awards. The gala awards night will be the first of its kind recognising the world’s leading travel bloggers for their invaluable contribution to the world of travel.

Nearly 1,000 submissions were received by the judging panel consisting of Digital Innovation Asia (DIA) Founder Jens Thraenhart, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Chief Executive Officer Mario Hardy, TravelClick International President Jan Tissera, Tripbod.com Founder Sally Davey, Four Travel Managing Director Debbie Hindle and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts Head of Brand Marketing Dileep Mudadeniya, who shortlisted 30 finalists for the 10 categories being awarded. 

10 of the nominees will go on to be awarded in the categories of Travel Blog of the Year, Best Up-coming Travel Blogger, Best Travel Writing Blog, Best Travel Photography Blog, Best Travel Video Blog, Best Food Blog, Best Luxury Travel Blog, Best Airline Blog, Best Optimisation of Social Media and Best Responsible Tourism Blog.

The gala awards night will not only see the 10 winners pick up their awards; the contemporary Sri Lankan themed event scheduled to be held on the night of the conference promises to bring together a selection inspiring fusion performances and gourmet cuisine for an unforgettable night. This international awards ceremony will be the first of its kind not only for the global blogging community but for Sri Lanka as well. As such Minister for Tourism Development John Amaratunga will also be addressing the audience at the event.
