Galadari honoured ‘A+’ in cleanliness and food hygiene

The Galadari Hotel was bestowed with the ‘A+’ grade certificate of commendation in recognition of excellence in cleanliness and food hygiene by the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) at the recently concluded CMC Awards. Food establishments in the city of Colombo were given special awards by the Colombo Municipal Council Public Health Department for maintaining excellent standards in food quality and hygiene.

The City Food Safety awards ceremony saw the participation food establishments in the city where the parties concerned received awards under various categories. The participating food establishments included hotels, restaurants, bakeries and fast food outlets. These food establishments were inspected by the CMC officials for quality of food and hygiene. The CMC regularly conducts checks on food establishments in the city to ensure food hygiene and safety is continuously maintained which has resulted in the standard of hygiene greatly improving in food establishments over the last 10 years.

The awards festival was held under the patronage of Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Commenting on this very momentous achievement, Galadari Hotel Executive Chef Salih said,  “We are indeed honoured that our efforts have become fruitful, I must make it a point to give due recognition to the Galadari Team which also included our In-House Hygiene Officers whose dedication largely contributed towards our success.

I must mention that due to the high standards maintained by the CMC, the hotel has been able to sustain exceptional levels in food safety and hygiene in par with international expectations. This is extremely important as this is an area of maximum importance especially where guests are concerned. We remain victorious with regards to our achievement and will ensure that we continuously maintain our reputation as a hotel that always adheres to the highest levels in cleanliness and food hygiene.”
