Galadari opens doors to school leavers and unemployed youth

The Galadari Hotel has always known the value and benefit of spearheading productive and sustainable CSR projects. The hotel under the guidance and encouragement of Sampath Siriwardena the General Manager launched its latest endeavour CSR project 111.

The project’s main objective is to offer hospitality training and employment to school leavers and unemployed youth. The duration will be a maximum two- year free course comprising of theory plus practical training in food production (cookery) and English. The youth selected will be guaranteed employment on performance after evaluation.

This provides them with the perfect opportunity to gain employment in a 5-star hotel with training and a wealth of knowledge. The Galadari Hotel will nurture these youth under its wing and provide these very lucky individuals the much needed lifeline to gain a firm foundation to be a part of the hospitality industry.

The welcome address was given by Manager Training and Development Kavinda Rankothdevella whom whilst giving the new trainees a warm welcome introduced them to the hotel and the objectives and the CSR project. 

Addressing the gathering Sampath Siriwardena said, “I am glad to offer the younger generation a golden opportunity as such as this to train and learn under our guidance and be a part of one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world.”
