GRAND Oriental Hotel, Colombo’s oldest hotel with one of the best views of the city, has introduced many new innovative theme nights and concepts, said Chairman of GOH, Mr Rohan Jayasinghe.

As Colombo reaps the rich dividends of peace, the GOH hopes to see the entire family entertained at its unique theme styled nights, he reiterated.

At the Harbour Room, with its unique wide-angled view of the harbour below, a sumptuous spread awaits you with an international buffet for lunch – at a very affordable rate of Rs. 1,370 all inclusive per head, from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, an A’la carte lunch is available.

The Harbour Room is the place to be during the weekend for the family. Thursday is the Sri Lankan Night with all time Sri Lankan favourites such as hoppers and pittu, etc., hot and spicy, cooked just like home. Take the family for a traditional dinner, especially when you don’t have the time to turn them out at home, said Ruwan Vithana, Executive Chef of GOH.

At Rs. 1,470 all inclusive per head and oriental music to keep the entire family serenaded, the Sri Lankan Night at the Harbour Room is hard to beat for a super family treat, said Iyantha Abeysinghe, F& B Manager of GOH.

On Fridays and Saturdays, as the sun sets over the Harbour Room which offers the finest view of a brilliantly lit harbour, the international buffet with a fine array of dishes awaits the family, said Ishanki Gunawardene, the PR Executive of GOH.

At Rs. 1,470 per head all inclusive, with Gamani Mendis on the electric organ, the buffet offers the best value for money, making it just the place to be during the weekend, added Jayasinghe, who together with the GOH Board of Directors and the staff has introduced a new and dynamic dimension to the hotel.

On Sundays, the Harbour Room comes alive with the Mixed Grill Night featuring a mix of the best for the family while Sam the Man provides excellent entertainment.

For the busy executives on the go from the GOH neighbourhood, the Sri Lankan buffet available at Rs. 485 per head all inclusive makes it one of the best in the area, said Jayasinghe, adding that on Fridays and Saturdays, the Sri Lankan Restaurant hosts a lively Paduru Party with oriental music and spicy Sri Lankan cuisine. A’la carte menu is available at the Sri Lankan Restaurant on Sunday for lunch and dinner.

“The GOH offers good cuisine, an excellent view, a convenient location and the best value money can buy, so bring your family over and have fun,” concluded Jayasinghe.
