Green Globe Certification convenes fourth annual summit

Green Globe Certification concluded its fourth Annual Summit and Partner Meeting in Los Angeles, California on 8 June. Tiara Anthonisz representing STING Consultants the accredited auditor for Green Globe Certification for the regions of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, was in attendance.



Green Globe Certification is the premier international brand for a sustainable travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. Green Globe’s membership currently stands at over 350 members around the world, including 15 members from Sri Lanka and the Maldives consisting of three major hotel brands operating in the region – Anantara Hotels and Resorts, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, and Chaaya Hotels and Resorts.

A unique feature of Green Globe Certification, and the source of immense value it creates for its members, is the international partnerships that it is built on. Amongst the attendees of this year’s meeting were Partners from Germany, France, Portugal, Turkey, UAE, India, and the Caribbean. Green Globe, with the support of its international partnerships, ensures the development of a relevant and up to date Standard for the tourism industry, taking into account best practice from all corners of the globe.
