The ground breaking ceremony of the new three-star City Hotel was held at Fort behind the former Dutch Hospital premises on Monday 25 November 2013. Deputy Minister of Investment Promotions Faiszer Musthapha participated as the Chief Guest. The City Hotel with 196 rooms and a 300 employment capacity is expected to be opened in mid 2015 by Fairway Holdings.
