For those looking to relax, there is a wealth of options available to help passengers rejuvenate before their flight, from the private quiet rooms and relaxing family spaces, to the games rooms for children offering PlayStation pods and an F1 driving simulator. Added to this Al Mourjan also offers prayer rooms, restrooms, a smoking area, a nursery and shower rooms with free amenities. Qatar Airways’ Premium travellers can also avail of a dedicated business centre offering a conference area, personal internet workstations, or printers and scanners, all to ensure a smooth and seamless transition from the office to the passengers’ final destination. The Al Mourjan Business Lounge is open to Qatar Airways and oneworld First and Business Class passengers until the Al Safwa First Class Lounge opens as part of HIA’s phased development.
The opening of Al Mourjan lounge is the latest in a vastly enhanced travel experience that passengers can expect when transiting through Qatar’s new Hamad International Airport.
The airport, which opened in the second quarter of 2014, boasts over 600,000 square metres of space, 40,000 of which are dedicated to top of the line retail outlets and a wide variety of food and beverage options. Additional features include a hotel, a spa, squash courts, gym, activity nodes and art installations throughout the terminals. Meanwhile the 16 lounges throughout the airport provide additional comfort to those that are looking to relax and unwind during their journey. In addition to Al Mourjan, Hamad International Airport offers a range of lounges for passengers to enjoy both in Departure and Arrival areas regardless of airline preference or travel class including; Oryx lounge, Al Maha service lounges, Gold, Silver and Premium lounges.
