Hemas, Minor sign BOI deal for second Anantara Hotel

Hemas Holdings PLC together with the Minor Hotel Group of Thailand has finalised plans to construct and operate a luxury five-star resort on the southern coast of Sri Lanka in Kalutara.
The investment agreement was signed recently with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka by Hemas Holdings PLC Group Director Abbas Esufally and Minor Hotel Group CEO Dillip Rajakarier.
The proposed 141-room project will cater to discerning travellers and will offer luxurious guest rooms and villas with their own plunge pools. The hotel will also boast of three restaurants, two swimming pools and a purpose-built spa. The property will be operated under the Anantara brand, and will epitomise the very best in indigenous Sri Lankan design, and will be complemented with all the luxuries sought-after by the modern-day traveller. Construction and implementation of the project will commence in February 2014 and the resort is scheduled for opening in mid-2015. The total value of the investment is approximately $ 35 million.
